Nowadays it don't take much.

    That's true. At the drop of a kind word (or a few), I can, and have, changed my opinion of a medical provider from negative to positive. And all he said, when I'd expressed my concern about a medical issue, was "My goal is the same as yours."  It doesn't matter if he says that to all his patients, if that's a preformulated response. He seemed direct and it was reassuring to hear that we were on the same course. It is rare that anyone, doctor or otherwise,  makes an attempt to relate to health issues of patients who are no longer youthful and appealing.
