Actually the second. Larger snake was there earlier in the day, but wouldn't pose.

Style was sideburns, legs, and yes, beer. And that couch, bought at Macy's, reincarnated twice through reupholstery, (tan stripe and burgundy dots) and stayed with us for 50 years.

Plastic Bag Ban Fallout Yee-ikes!

Some people are already prepared, as I found out today. She was a neatly-clad, late middle-aged woman in line at Price Chopper. The store was busy as usual, and there were several lanes open. I was in no particular hurry, though there are places I would rather be. I got in line behind this woman, who had  only a few items in the top of her cart.
What followed was the Reveal. From the bottom of her cart, she presented for checkout a handsome cloth bag, insulated. She proceeded to remove from that bag several packages of meat, which she carefully returned to the insulated bag after scanning took place.  Then she placed several canned items on the counter, and reached into her cart and took out another bag, not insulated this time. She put 2 more of her fabric bags on the counter, leaving several  more in the bottom of the cart. I could now see that she had a carefully folded stack of cloth bags, of different sizes and colors.  She deposited the items of her choice into the designated bags, according to texture and weight, I supposed. And she was deliberate in her actions, a well-organized and well-coordinated mission.
Oh, please, say it isn't so. I promise I'll make sure each plastic bag is properly reused, recycled, and/ or both.

I wonder what gifted and talented qualities Melania's parents brought to the country when they received citizenship a year or so ago. Could it have been-----Melania?

This Was Us

Yes, the curtains matched the wallpaper.  In a daisy pattern--it was the 70's!

Questions of the Day

1) Are we ever done?
2) Pretty, but lethal?
